Central Telegraph Office of the Overseas Telegraph Service.
Electra House was the busiest telegraph centre in the world and together
with Cardinal House, they were at the hub of the world's international telegraph
network. Not only did they handle all British originated traffic, but they
also acted as the clearing house for the many telegrams which were received
in London for onward transmission to destinations around the globe, this
tradition is being maintained today.
