CNet - the Collectors Net
Connecting yesterdays technology - today |
The collectors net, or CNet, was started in America and was born out of a desire to connect preserved electromechanical exchanges together over long distances. The network has grown significantly in the last three years and now has members in America, New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom and many other countries throughout Europe. As CNet uses the internet, the calls cost nothing and it is possible to chat to like-minded enthusiasts around the world. Many installations use a dedicated computer running specialised software to hook into CNet but the system has progressed now to the point where you only need an analogue terminal adaptor (ATA) and an old telephone, along with your broadband connection, to join the group. For further information, please visit the CNet website and feel free to join one of the mailing groups. There is a group in America and another in the UK.
