Book Review - Telegraphy.

Telegraphy, J. W. Freebody. 1961, Pitman.

"This clear and detailed account of principles and practice, covering the equipment used by the British Post Office, succeeds Herbert's 'Telegraphy' as an indispensable reference book for students, engineers and all actively engaged in telegraphy."

A companion book to the Telephony volumes, this work gives a similar level of information about mechanical telegraphy and the UK Telex system. Also out of print but appears occasionally on e-Bay. I used to have it out on almost permanent loan from my local library when I was starting out with teleprinters, which tells you how useful it is. Its coverage of teleprinters is limited to models used by the British Post Office up to 1961.
