Here are a variety of links relating to the British Post Office and the delivery of letters, telegrams, and some of the associated services which have evolved over the many years since the Penny Black stamp was devised.

Bath Postal Museum -Situated within the building from which the world's first postage stamp was sent, it includes information on key people in history who shaped the UK's postal system. As well as an excellent philatelic section, the museum encourages schools participation and is recommended for a visit if you are in the area.

The Letter Box Study Group (official website) at www.lbsg.org  -A lively new site exploring the world of (mainly UK) letter boxes.

The aim of the Group is to encourage research, preservation, restoration of letter boxes and the documentation of types and their locations.

The THG needs your memories and observations of working practices, past and present. Today's seemingly ordinary mundane process is tomorrow's fascinating history.
