JULY 2007
Sunday 22nd July: Great Eastern Classic Vehicle Rally - Ingatestone Hall
Dear Reader,

This is just a short letter, to invite you to the 2007 "Great Eastern Classic Vehicle Rally". This will be the 31st Great Eastern Rally and will be held on Sunday 22nd July 2007, at Ingatestone Hall, Hall Lane (a continuation of Station Road), Ingatestone (Near Brentwood), Essex. As usual, the rally will open at 10.00 am and end at about 5.00 p.m.

Entry to the rally will be free of charge as usual, but we will hold a raffle to recoup some of the organising costs. If you can find anything to donate as a raffle prize, it would be most welcome. Your free admission is to the rally field and to attend the rally. If you should wish to visit the Elizabethan Manor House, there is an admission charge, but those attending the rally may be eligible to receive a discount.

The rally is a "turn upon the day" event. There is no need for vehicle owners to pre-book. We will be able to accommodate you. Autojumblers should book. We do not charge anyone to attend.

Please note that the house, the toilets and the tea room do not open until 12.00 noon. If you are planning to bring anyone who may need to use the toilets frequently, please do not arrive too early.

I do hope you can come to the rally. If you want to bring your own friends along, then please do so. Ingatestone Hall is an interesting place to go, even when the rally is not there.

If you bring a classic vehicle, please park it sensibly in the next available space on the rally field, then visit the control tent and sign in the attendance book. Signing yourself in should ensure that you receive a written notification of the rally next year and we also use information from the book for prizegiving.

If you come in a modern vehicle, please park it in the Hall's car park and walk to the rally from the car park. Directions to the rally will be fully signposted on the day.

Yours sincerely, Adrian Hanwell.

D. & L. O. C. Essex Branch Secretary.
