The Connected Earth Centre at Amberley Working Museum
Amberley Working Museum was one of the first of a BT distributed community of partner museums. The purpose-built display centre housing the telephone collection opened in May 2002 and is now a well-established attraction at Amberley.

The displays of telephones are just one part of the Connected Earth Centre within the grounds of Amberley Working Museum. THG member Laurence Rudolf took some photos in July 2005.

The UAX 13
A UAX13 Telephone Exchange
A working UAX13 which supports the Museum's telephone system...

Within the grounds of Amberley Museum, the Telephone Exchange is a working UAX13 complete with a rack of batteries, test rack & MDF with a full 50 lines of Strowger equipment. The exchange was originally installed in 1940 in Coolham.

Beware the Trains
Beware of Trains!
The chalk pits and the railway are a dominant feature of Amberley Working Museum. Filming for the James Bond series 'A View to a Kill' took place on this site.
